One of the most annoying things about smart phones is that most come locked with the carrier. There are advantages and disadvantages of this. With the release of the S7, many are already wondering how to unlock their phones even before purchase. Well, here are a number of ways:
1. Buy the handset straight from the factory
This may not seem like a way to unlock the phone but it the surest way to get a phone that is not locked to a carrier. Samsung are providing the option of having an unlocked phone bought straight from the factory. The benefit of this is that you can use it with any SIM card you want if the carriers do not have contracts. If not, the phone will then lock to the first SIM card that you insert. However, it should be noted that phones from the factory will be at the full retail price as opposed to carrier bought phones which provide plans for payment where it is spread out to 20 and even 30 months.
2. Use unlock code from UnlockUnit.com
This is a simple process. All you need to do is just key in your IMEI number into the phone and pay securely on the site. You will then receive an unlocking code via email. The site also requires that you include an email address for this purpose. The email with the unlock code also carries instructions which are pretty straightforward.
3. Use unlock code from UnlockScope.com
This method uses the same concept as other unlock codes. You purchase a code via the site and you receive the code through your email address. You are then required to input the code into your phone once you have followed the instructions that are available in the email that you receive. A snapshot of what your phone should look like before unlocking is shown below. After unlocking, you can test whether the code has worked by inserting a SIM card from a different carrier.
There are different applications that are available online. Once you download them you are able to unlock your phone. The applications include unlockscope app which is available on Google. These are straightforward and they do not require any technical expertise. It is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
5. Via PC
There is software that is available for download at a price. Once you install the software in your computer and connect it to your phone, it is able to search out the unlock codes that were created on the phone in the manufacturing process. This is much easier. It may not be as fast as the other methods though. The downside to using this method is that you have to know your way around a computer and follow the instructions to the tee in order to get the codes for unlocking your device. It is not suited for those who do not want to interact with some technical mumbo jumbo. However, it works just fine.
